Paul's experience started across the Tasman with Television New Zealand in 1978. After eight years in all facets of television primarily as a cameraman he relocated to Channel Ten in Sydney and moved into studio directing. In 1991 he left stepped out into private enterprise, firstly with one of Sydney's most prominent production houses, before establishing Black Magic Media.
Paul's background still sees him hands on with cameras if necessary in some specialised roles, although his focus is mainly on business development and the production and direction of the varied work carried out by Black Magic.

Richard joined Black Magic
in 2004 as editor after spending nearly three years with PY Media in Northern
Territory working with a dozen communities in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Lands.
His multi skilling fits the small company profile well and he currently edits
the Australian Superbike Championship programs for Network Ten as well as
other long form documentary and news requirements.
* Freelance Television Staff
Robert McDougall spent
nine years at Black Magic full time before leaving recently to pursue personal
interests. He specialises in graphics and animation and still provides graphic
services to Black Magic on a freelance basis.
Lee Henderson worked full
time for Black Magic until setting out to work with his family's
complimentary health company. He successfully completed a Film and Television
Diploma at T.A.F.E. as well as specialised certificates in cameras, sound and
editing. These days he freelances for camera and edit on projects carried out
by Black Magic.
Erica Powell worked full
time for Black Magic for three years and now freelances on projects. Her
diverse skills and understanding of Black Magic see her regularly back in the
office for production and management.
Other freelance staff
include Nathan Tomlinson who has a matching DVC Pro 910 camera for multi
camera shoots, and Mike Smith who has extensive camera experience with Black
Magic including the Sydney Olympic Torch Relay and Manchester Commonwealth
Games Baton Relay.
